FAQ

On Curriculum & Academics

1. Is the ICSE curriculum too difficult for primary students?
Not at all. While ICSE is known for its depth, we follow a gradual progression. In the early years, we focus on conceptual clarity and activity-based learning so that by the time students reach Class 5, they have a natural grasp of the subjects without feeling pressured.
ICSE (CISCE) puts a much stronger emphasis on English language proficiency, literature, and creative arts. It offers a more comprehensive and diverse syllabus, which is excellent for students who may want to pursue higher education abroad or appear for management/humanities exams later in life.

We align our lesson plans, textbooks, and assessment patterns with the CISCE framework. This ensures that our students are at the same academic level as any top-tier ICSE school in the country, focusing on high-order thinking skills rather than rote memorization.

We believe in "Quality over Quantity." For Preschool and lower Primary, we avoid traditional heavy homework. Instead, we give "Home Fun" activities—small tasks that encourage children to observe nature or practice a life skill at home.
Language is a pillar of our school. We use phonics-based learning in Preschool and move to creative writing and public speaking in Primary. Because we follow ICSE standards, we maintain an English-speaking environment to build natural fluency.

On Teaching Methodology

6. What is "Activity-Based Learning"?
It means we don't just "tell" children about a concept; we let them "do" it. For example, to learn about plants, students at our Samprada or Enlight campuses don’t just look at a book—they plant seeds and observe growth.
We use Montessori tools primarily in our Preschool years to develop fine motor skills and mathematical logic. This hands-on foundation makes the transition to "pen-and-paper" learning in Class 1 much smoother.
Every classroom uses audio-visual teaching methods. We use digital storytelling and interactive simulations to explain complex concepts, making lessons more engaging for visual and auditory learners.
We maintain a strict student- teacher ratio to ensure Individual Attention. Our teachers are trained to identify different personality types and use inclusive teaching methods to bring shy children out of their shells.

On Facilities & Safety

10. How safe are the campuses?
Safety is our top priority. Both the Samprada and Enlight campuses are CCTV monitored 24/7. We have strict entry/exit protocols, and our staff is trained in child safety and first aid.
Puducherry's climate can be very humid and hot. We provide air-conditioned classrooms to ensure that children remain comfortable and focused. When a child is physically comfortable, their span of concentration significantly increases.
Yes, we have high-quality RO (Reverse Osmosis) drinking water systems installed at both campuses to ensure the health and hygiene of our students.
Our indoor play area is used for physical education, motor skill development, and supervised recreation. It allows children to stay active and play safely even during rainy days or extreme afternoon heat.

On Admissions & Transition

14. What is the minimum age for Playgroup?
We welcome children starting from 1.8 years. Our Playgroup focus is on socialization and a gentle, caring introduction to the school environment.
No. Our teachers specialize in bridging the gap. Because we focus on "Conceptual Clarity" in Class 1 and 2, we help new students catch up with the ICSE language and logic standards quickly.
You will need the child's Birth Certificate, 4-5 passport-sized photographs, Address Proof (Aadhar/Voter ID), and a Parent's ID.

On Holistic Development

17. Do you focus on value education?
Absolutely. As per our Mission, we are committed to the holistic development of every student. We teach secular values, respect for others, and social responsibility regardless of race, religion, or caste.
We integrate environmental awareness into our curriculum. Students learn about sustainability, gardening, and compassion for animals, helping them grow into "interdependent adults" who care for the planet.
Yes. From art and music to movement and role-play, we ensure that creativity is woven into the daily schedule. We believe that a creative mind is a successful academic mind.
We believe the "Shreeman Vidyalaya family" includes parents. We have regular Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and open- door communication to ensure you are always a partner in your child’s growth journey.
